From the Instructor

“You might find it awkward at first…it takes a few times to pick up the moves, but something clicks, the brain goes on autopilot and confidence builds with every kick.”

a member’s perspective

“I'm not an angry person, but there's something about Strike that lets me release pent-up feelings. I pick up that weighted bar and bells, head to the front row and throw my first punch. Can't tell you how good it feels.”
"The music is hard-hitting; I can feel the bass as it vibrates through my bones. The instructor is a drill sergeant, constantly challenging me. If I lose focus, she's right in front of my face, hand out, waiting for my punch, giving me a push I didn't know I needed.”
"Things start to heat up as we pick up the bar, throwing head strikes and side blocks. My heart is racing, and I'm literally drenched. There's something about throwing punches with weights that makes me feel invincible."
"By the end of class, we've completed five rounds of the hard stuff. I'm completely beat but walk out of the studio so much more confident than I walked in."

Good to know

where it began

Kickboxing first originated in Japan in the late 1950s, emerging as a fusion of Karate and Boxing, with influences from other combat sports such as Taekwondo.

The Kohler Effect

The idea that no one wants to be the weakest link in a group means you'll push yourself harder when you're working out with folks who are fitter.

Get the worm

Morning workouts are linked to greater productivity, improved sleep, lower blood pressure as well as an increase in metabolism for most people. We’ll be see you first thing tomorrow.

Our members say

“I’ve tried a lot of things to relieve frustration and stress (nature walks, lavender baths) but nothing comes close to the stress relieving power of this class.”
